Good afternoon, Kindergarten Families –
Happy Friday! I hope your family enjoyed the beautiful weather this week! On Monday, we will be taking a few opportunities to go outside and experience the eclipse. We will step outside at about 11:40 to see the start and look again at 12:41. Our school received a grant that provides all students with glasses for viewing. If you would NOT like your child to participate, please let me know before Monday at 8:00am, so that I can plan accordingly. You will also need to contact the office for an opt-out form. We are discussing the eclipse today in class. It would be greatly appreciated if you could discuss with your child the importance of wearing their glasses correctly as they witness the eclipse.
Please let me know if there is anything you need. Have a wonderful weekend.

Kindergarten Celebration Update-Please join us on Wednesday, May 29th in the Bethke Gym for our Kindergarten music program and celebration. We will begin promptly at 9:30am. The gym will open at 9:00am to begin seating. Following the celebration, we will head outside for you to have a picnic lunch with your child and enjoy your child’s kindergarten memory book. Please make sure your child has a home lunch on this day, as school lunch will not be available this early in the lunchroom. If you would like, you may bring lunch for your child or take them after the performance for a special afternoon with you. If your child is staying the remainder of the school day, please make sure they have an afternoon snack as they will be eating lunch a little earlier than normal.
Recyclable and Spare Crafts Donations Needed- Next week we will be learning how to reduce, reuse, and recycle. On Thursday, April 11th, I will “secretly” be littering our classroom with many items. We will live in the mess for the morning to represent what it would be like to live in a polluted earth. In the afternoon, we will reuse the items to make creations. If you happen to have some “trash” like objects, items your family usually recycles, random items, or some craft supplies you are no longer in need of that would be great to reuse, please feel free to bring them in on or before Tuesday, April 9th. Examples include: toilet paper/paper towel tubes, cereal boxes, clean aluminum cans, small boxes, egg cartons, milk jugs, yogurt containers, etc…You may drop your items off secretly in the front office with my name labeled on the bag. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This will be a surprise for our class…. Shhhhhh… Please make sure any recyclable items are school appropriate, clean, and free of sharp edges.
