We have been listening to lots of different versions of "The Three Little Pigs" all week and compared them all to the original story. Today we worked cooperatively with a partner to make a house for our little pig! Then we tested our house with the "Big Bad Wolf!"
A LITTER BUG visited our classroom and left it a huge mess!!!! We lived in the mess ALL morning to see what it's like when your habitat is littered. Then in the afternoon we reused the "trash" to make creations! It was a fun day :)
The Solar Eclipse was so fun to watch together!!!! We went out 3 times throughout the day to observe the changes. Thank you to PTO for funded our special glasses so that the entire school could experience the eclipse together!
To get ready for the Eclipse, we talked about shadows and did an experiment. We observed how shadows change depending on where the "sunlight" is. They said, "This is the best experiment EVER!!!" Then we discussed our observations.
Spirit Week to encourage our older friends about upcoming CMAS testing was so fun! Here we are working out on Workout Wednesday!
More fun with Science Biographies! We learned that the Wright Brothers persevered and were the first to continuously fly! We made our own paper airplanes and had a flying competition. Congratulations to Hayden for being our Grand Champion!!!!
We LOVE Stem projects!!! We made a rainbow and tried to balance our leprechaun's pot of gold on it while adding coins to the pot! So fun ;)
We tried to catch a Leprechaun in our handy dandy traps but that sneaky guy came into our classroom, left us all coins, and snuck back out!!!!
We LOVE Leprechauns!!!! Don't forget to wear green on St. Patrick's day!
As part of our Science Biographies unit of study in Core, we learned that Scientists observe and experiment! Jane Goodall observed chimpanzees using tools - they're the only animals, besides humans, that do that! Here we are experimenting with different tools, too!
Making and playing our Didgeridoos was a blast!!! Hope you've enjoyed them at home :)
Happy Leap Year!!!! We had fun leaping to 100, making words with the letters in "Leap Year," and writing about what we want to do that's super special on our extra day!
Our Valentine's Day party was a blast!!! Thank you so much to all who helped plan and/or run a center activity. We couldn't do it without amazing volunteers! We had a such a fun day!

The 100th Day of School!!!!!! We had a blast on our 100th day of school! We partied all day and tried to keep up the act of being old, haha! Here's just some of the fun. I think the best part of their day was popping 100 balloons at the end of the day!!! ;)

The Bethke Talent Show featured our own Addison and Jack who participated in a Minute to Win It competition! It was so fun watching them plus all the former students who performed!
Our Continent Study has been so much fun! It was amazing to learn about Canada from a native - Mrs. Knudsen!!!! She even let us taste ketchup chips, which are a favorite where she's from. So far we've also made a Mexican Flag, the Mona Lisa, the Eiffel Tower, Dragons, Pandas, and Carp Kites. It was so much fun flying our kites out on the field! Here's some examples to show you!
Our Winter Party was so much fun! A big THANK YOU to our parents who planned and helped at our party! We couldn't have had such a fun day without your hard work!!!!!
During our Magnet Unit, we discovered what makes a magnet a magnet and explored things that are magnetic or non-magnetic by making our very own Margie Magnet!
Book Buddy Time!!! Our book buddies helped us write words!
LETTERS PARTY!!!! We had a letters party all day to celebrate what amazing readers and writers we are becoming!!! What a fun day :)

We had 2 older friends trade in their Bob Bucks to come back to Kindergarten to read to us!!! Emmett and Odin (Gracie's brother) were Reading Rock Stars!!
Our Field Trip to Miller Farms was a blast!!!! We had the best time picking vegetables, eating lunch, and playing on all of the cool equipment!
Firefighter Matthew came to visit us to teach all about Fire Safety at Home!

Train and Bike Safety!!!! Officer Flannigan, from the Timnath Police Department, came to visit us to talk about the importance of safety around trains and safety while riding our bikes!

We've been learning all about the Weather in Core. We made Breezy Buddies to hang outside to monitor the wind!
We learned about the effects of the sun and the sun's energy in Core. To show what we learned, we worked cooperatively to build a SHADE STRUCTURE for Olaf the Snowman! We also made UV bead bracelets to show the effects of the sun's rays!
We met our 3rd Grade Book Buddies and had the best time getting to know each other!
We shared our first homework assignment: ALL ABOUT ME BAGS!
